MOBILE BOTTOM HOLE ASSEMBLE (BHA) FRAME

The ProTorque BHA frame brings all of the make and break capabilities of a shop bucking unit and puts them in a mobile package. The frame can be shipped direct to your sites rather than shipping individual items to and from locations. The bucking frame consists of a tubular spinner, hydraulic stationary backup and a torque head with an adjustable span of up to 18 inches between the jaws. The four jaw design can accommodate pipe from 4 ½”” – 12” and up to 100,000 ft/lbs of torque. The frame safely assembles and disassembles any rotary shouldered connection(s). It is designed to assemble the bottom hole assembly offline. The horizontal position allows the operator to safely and easily align the threaded connection off the critical path. This reduces risk to employees on the rig floor as well as the chance of damage upon make-up or break-out, because the process is carried out off the critical path. The ProTorque Mobile BHA frame makes the process safer, saves valuable rig time and helps to reduce cost.

The BHA frame is just another innovative way. ProTorque is redefining TRS. By striving for advancements in technology within our industry, we are known as one of the most technically advanced casing running solutionists on the market.

COMPUTER ANALYZED TORQUE MONITORING (CATM) – TOP DRIVE

The Torque Sub monitors the top drive output (Torque, RPM, Hookload) and displays a real-time graphical representation of the data delivered. From this, we develop a torque vs turns & time graph, exactly like the graph that would be obtained from a power tong using a traditional CATM system. This allows us to monitor and uphold the same integrity while making up tubular connections with a CRT.

COMPUTER ANALYZED TORQUE MONITORING (CATM) – POWER TONGS

With a variety of issues that could occur while making up an array of different connections on the market, at ProTorque it is our belief that all tubular connections should use computer analysis. CATM delivers a graphical representation that allows us to interpret and prevent damaged or incorrectly made up connections from entering the wellbore. It helps to ensure peak performance and proper isolation for your packer systems. This isolation reduces and helps to eliminate leaks during the fracturing (FRAC) process, in turn mitigating environmental and unforeseen production risks.

RCD PRESS

The RCD (Rotating Control Device) Press is used to install or remove a tubular onto an RCD Head. The head is used with Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and is conventionally installed on the rig floor. This method of installation can cause a variety of handling and safety concerns. When installing ahead on the rig floor, the rig cost is Non-Productive Time (NPT) so by taking this operation offline we are able to remove the hazards and costs associated.

HOOK LOAD & TORQUE VERIFICATION

The Torque Sub is used to regularly verify the top drive and rig tong torque outputs. This is to ensure that they are accurate and to reduce damage to the rotary shoulder connections during make-up. Regular verifications help to prevent downtime, equipment failure, repair costs and can extend the service life of your drill pipe.

30-35% of Top Drives deliver inaccurate drill pipe connection torques
svgicons-1
1 in 4 Top Drives are out of calibration by more than 10%

A variety of factors can cause a Top Drive to apply errant torque or hookload. This might include mistaken system settings, temperature variations, plumbing leaks, and SCR or voltage issues. These factors can go undetected and cause incorrect torque values. There is only one way to ensure a Top Drive is delivering correct make-up torque to your connections – by directly measuring the torque being applied using a direct measurement tool.

VACUUM DRIFTING

The Vacuum Drift System was designed to remove one of the most dangerous parts of casing preparation, which is using a snake and drift to confirm casing ID. This eliminates the hazards of conventional drifting while ensuring there are no deformities in the tubular. Efficiency without the noise. This design reduces operation noise by utilizing a vane pump instead of a blower creating 27 mercury units of vacuum force. With the unit fully mobile it can be utilized anywhere on-site, even in difficult-to-reach areas with any length of hose. It contains an adjustable reverse function to push the drift if it becomes lodged in the tubular. Drift times per/joint depend on casing size and volume of air moved.
